Single..This is why

A lot of people have been either asking me or wondering why am I single. Anybody that knows me understands that I can have someone with ease. This is not to sound cocky it's the truth. So they wonder if I can be with someone right now why don't I. Honestly it would be nice to have a guy right now but I have too many things going on in my life right now to drag somebody in the middle of it. I think about it a lot but it's just not as deep as it is to others. It's sad to me that so many people seemingly can not go on with life without a significant other. It's even sadder that a lot of people just act wild and have sex with so many people that they loose count. Why don't I have a boyfriend? Mainly because it's not the right time. Plus I don't want to settle for just anyone. I have standards and I want the other person to have some as well that refuses to settle just because I turn them on or I'm a nice girl. Why don't I just act a fool and have sex with all these guys that's more than willing to do so because it's not beneficial to me. I've struggled with having sex before. I'm not going to lie it was fun but honestly it's not worth the drama. Plus most importantly my body is a temple and honestly I refuse to allow someone to come in while someone else comes out as if my body is a revolving door. Trust and believe besides the person that I've had sex with the only other person that will be able to claim that truthfully will be the one that I am with whole heartedly. Even as I explain myself I know people still not getting what I'm trying to say because people have the wrong idea about what it means to be single.

One definition for single says, considered separately as something distinct or unique. I don't need someone to complete me or try to fill voids that they honestly can't fill. So many people think that they need a person to complete them or believe that they will fill a void in their life and it hits them hard when they see this is untrue. Once you get past the stage of infatuation reality sets in. Many people have perceived love to be like a fairy tale but that simply is not true. Ask anybody that's married or has been. Not long after the I do's are said the fantasy ends and reality takes shape. No one can complete you, fill the voids in your heart, or have you feeling all happy and giddy all the time. Once this is realized many people want out of the marriage saying that they're not happy anymore. The bottom line is if you're not happy with your own self you will not be happy with someone else. People need to wake up. It's gotten to the point where people have taken something as sacred as marriage which is supposed to be for richer or poorer till death do you part and treat it like any other type of relationship. You can take you're relationships filled with self imposed drama that will go to an inevitable dead end leaving you to go back to the drawing board. My time is precious and honestly I'm tired of wasting it. As for me I'm going to wait until the right time where I can devote the love that they deserve knowing I'm not complete with them but I am blessed to have them. Someone that I call my queen that I will accept in sickness and in health till death do us part.

Now I know a lot of people will pose the question how can I have this without having a boyfriend or even looking for one at the moment. First understand that you do not have to be boyfriend and girlfriend to go out on a date. Second I have to be patient, which I am working on. I don't want to devote my time and feelings to someone when I really don't know what they're about. I think you should be friends first, not just in words but in actions (no friends with benefits), get to see who they are, and then get into the whole courtship thing. This way you can avoid the unecessary drama and confussion of being with someone that you know you shouldn't be with or you know you really don't have a future with. Now I know a lot of people think I'm crazy for what I'm saying but to those that do know where I'm coming from I encourage you to stop settling. Stop going from relationship to relationship looking for wholeness that only God can give. Stop running around having sex with all these people. That will not make you happy. I know guys that have had sex with girl after girl and still feel empty. Besides you're special so treat yourself as such and stop selling yourself short. Please understand that I say these words out of love. I'm not trying to act all high and mighty I'm no better than anyone else. I just hope you take these words for what they are and at least think about your romantic situation. Be happy, confident, and secure with your own self then look for someone. Otherwise you're putting the cart before the horse.
